How Do I Clean It?

Every couple of weeks, empty the tank, add a splash of white vinegar and warm water, leave it ten minutes and wipe the base with a soft cloth. That is it. The reason we are telling you this on the product page rather than burying it in the manual is simple: limescale is the only thing that will ever stop this working, and ten minutes a fortnight prevents it entirely. Never put the base under a running tap and never put any part of it in a dishwasher.
Can I Use Tap Water?

Yes, and most people do. If you live somewhere with hard water, filtered or distilled water keeps the mist chamber clear for longer and cuts the fine white dust hard water leaves on nearby surfaces. Not essential, just the difference between cleaning it monthly and fortnightly.
Is It Quiet Enough For A Bedroom?

It is ultrasonic, so there is no fan and no motor. The only sound is a faint water hum from the mist chamber, closer to a glass of water settling than to the whirr of a desk humidifier. You will hear it in a silent room if you listen for it, and you will not hear it over a television or a conversation. Run it with the light on and the mist off and it is completely silent.
